Seattle Times Reader Photo of the Year 2008
"This is a timeless image of fishermen and nature. The wonderful light peeking through the mist makes a tremendous background. The picture's classic composition and depth allow the viewer's eye to spend some time moving through the image, starting with the first fisherman and then working through the picture to the second fisherman and on to the center of the frame. There are all the elements of a great picture — light, composition and moment — making it reminiscent of a classic painting. If you look closely you can even see the splash from one of the fishermen's lines as a cast has just hit the water."
